The example
The steps below use a sample distributor, Lone Star Industrial Supply. Your customers, items and numbers will differ; the window and the fields won’t.
This morning's delivery was received into the RECV (receiving dock) bin at the Houston Branch (HOU). You've carried the 120 × GLV-CUT-L (Cut-resistant glove A4, large (pair)) to their home bin, H-A-02.
Move them in the system too, with Bin Inventory Movement, so the pickers are sent to H-A-02 and nothing is left showing on the dock.
Step by step in Bin Inventory Movement

Open the Menu and search for Bin Inventory Movement.
- 2.
Pick HOU in Location ID.
- 3.
Type GLV-CUT-L in Item ID, then Tab. Every bin holding it is listed with its Qty On Hand; RECV shows the 120 from this morning.
A bin move never changes how many you have, only where they are.
- 4.
On the RECV row, type 120 in Quantity To Move: all of it went on the shelf.
- 5.
On the same row, pick H-A-02 as the To Bin.
The bin is what the pick ticket prints. Get it wrong and pickers go to the wrong shelf.

Press Save.
- 7.
The RECV row is gone and H-A-02 holds the stock.
Mistakes that cost money

Stock in the wrong bin
The system says it is in one bin and it is sitting in another. Pickers come back empty-handed, orders ship short and the count is wrong until someone finds it.
